About Us
YFE Theatrical Productions is a not-for-profit, black box, community theater. It began as the theatrical division of Yellow Fun Entertainment in 2015 after Yellow Fun Entertainment had success co-producing multiple shows with another locally run theater company. The division originally was created to produce children's and families shows. Our first show was DRACULA'S IN THE BASEMENT, a Halloween show that was so successful in 2015 that YFE brought it back each Fall from 2016-2018. During this time, the division produced 3 shows a year: An annual Spring show (usually a children's show or one based in classic literature), a Winter Children's Acting Workshop, and an annual Halloween show. In early 2018, it was apparent that this division was strong enough to become its own theater company.
By May of 2018, we officially became an organized non-profit company. In 2018, we added a Family Theater Division to our already burgeoning Children's Theater Division. Under the Family Theater Division, we have produced shows for families--no matter who your family is. These shows have included classic literature works such as POLLYANNA to Holiday shows, such as MIRACLE ON 34TH ST.
Our performing venues usually are in and around the Dedham/Westwood/Randolph areas; although during the pandemic we produced 2 Covid-safe productions for a YouTube audience. Some of our family shows might perform in and around Boston, but our children's theater productions are always grounded within the Dedham area; usually rehearsing at The Motherbrook Arts & Community Center (123 High St., Dedham) and performing at various venues within that community.

Artistic Managing Director & Founder
Josef Silvia
Josef Silvia hails from Plymouth, MA. He cut his teeth in theater by apprenticing Priscilla Beach Theatre's School of Theater, learning all he could during the five intense years he worked there before becoming an adjunct faculty member for another five. During his high school, college and grad school years, Josef wrote, directed, and performed in many shows for PBT. However, it was the writing, directing and producing that caught Josef's eye. In 2011, he moved to the Boston area and quickly became involved with multiple theater companies in and around the Boston area. This eventually led to the creation of YFE Theatrical Productions, Inc. While Josef is a career-driven manager in another job field, he loves to travel, read, and is a published author.
