About Us
YFE Theatrical Productions is a non-profit black box, theater company in the Greater-Boston area. Originally a division of Yellow Fun Entertainment (Y.F.E.). This division was created in 2015 to be the production arm of Yellow Fun Entertainment after we had mild success co-producing and financially backing a local non-profit theater. Our aim was to provide the community with uplifting children's and family theater shows.
Our first show was DRACULA'S IN THE BASEMENT, a Halloween show that was so successful in 2015 that YFE brought it back each Fall from 2016-2018. During this time, the division produced 3 shows a year: An annual Spring show (usually a children's show or one based in classic literature), a Winter Children's Acting Workshop, and an annual Halloween show. In 2018, we decided to expand our model to produce classic literary works and took a chance by producing Pollyanna. The show met with resounding success, and the following year we took another chance and produced our first Holiday show, Miracle on 24th Street.
In July 2018, we formalized as a non-profit theatrical company within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in 2025 we obtained legal federal status as a non-profit organization.
We remain producing family shows every Spring (usually performing in April) and in the Fall, we now produce staged radio plays for nursing homes and senior centers; bringing them uplifting and qualitative entertainment at no cost to them. We also produce yearly radio dramas released on our YouTube Channel and based on the staged radio plays we present the seniors in our community.
In 2024 we moved from our Dedham location and we now are based in Quincy and this April we will be performing at a new venue, the First Congregational Church in Randolph, MA.

Artistic Managing Director & Founder
Josef Silvia
Josef Silvia hails from Plymouth, MA. He cut his teeth in theater by apprenticing Priscilla Beach Theatre's School of Theater, learning all he could during the five intense years he worked there before becoming an adjunct faculty member for another five. During his high school, college and grad school years, Josef wrote, directed, and performed in many shows for PBT. However, it was the writing, directing and producing that caught Josef's eye. In 2011, he moved to the Boston area and quickly became involved with multiple theater companies in and around the Boston area. This eventually led to the creation of YFE Theatrical Productions. While Josef is a career-driven manager in another job field, he loves to travel, read, and is a published author.
