About Us
YFE Productions, also known as YFE Theatrical Productions, began in January 2016 as the theatrical division of Yellow Fun Entertainment after a successful Halloween themed show in 2015. The division was created with the intention of producing children's and family theater. Between January 2016 and May 2018, the division produced seven children's acting workshops and five family-friendly theatrical shows in the Dedham, MA area.
After a successful two years as a division, YFE Productions formalized into a non-profit theater company in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in June 2018; and an advisory board was created to help guide the growing theater company. In 2019, the children's acting workshops were disbanded in favor of a three show a year model: A Winter Children's Theater Show, Spring Family Community Theater Show, and Fall Holiday Show. This model would be short-lived due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but it resulted in a refined purpose for the theater company: to be a theater for families no matter who your families are.
With this vision in mind, YFE began producing staged radio plays in 2023 and in 2024 created a repertory group called "YFE Theater on the Air." This group performs one-hour staged radio plays at senior centers and nursing homes, with the mission to bring joy to our senior community; giving back to those who already gave us so much. We have successfully performed Pygmalion, A Christmas Carol, & It's a Wonderful Life as staged radio plays for seniors. Our sister company, Yellow Fun Entertainment, produces these radio plays as an audio podcast for our greater audience at home and abroad.
YFE Productions still produces its yearly Spring shows, focusing on literary and theatrical classics to appeal to all audiences, young and old alike. In 2025, our live performance venue changed from Dedham to Randolph, MA but our core vision remains: "To bring theater to families no matter who your families are."

Artistic Managing Director & Founder
Josef Silvia
Josef Silvia hails from Plymouth, MA. He cut his teeth in theater by apprenticing Priscilla Beach Theatre's School of Theater, learning all he could during the five intense years he worked there before becoming an adjunct faculty member for another five. During his high school, college and grad school years, Josef wrote, directed, and performed in many shows for PBT. However, it was the writing, directing and producing that caught Josef's eye. In 2011, he moved to the Boston area and quickly became involved with multiple theater companies in and around the Boston area. This eventually led to the creation of YFE Theatrical Productions. While Josef is a career-driven manager in another job field, he loves to travel, read, and is a published author.
