Auditions for JM Barrie's Peter Pan!
YFE Theatrical Productions is looking for three actors to play the main roles in its new production of JM BARRIE’S PETER PAN. A small production that will have 6 rehearsals and only one performance day.
Synopsis: An original take on the classic story of Peter Pan. We meet JM Barrie three years before the success of his play PETER AND WENDY. It is Spring, 1901 in London. Barrie meets one afternoon Wendy Davies and her younger brother Michael Davies who inspire him to write the classic tale of Peter Pan. A fictional version of true events, in which a real-life family actually did inspire Barrie to write his play.
Roles to Audition For:
James Matthew Barrie (age range 23-42)—A well-respected playwright, hot off the success of his play TOMMY AND GRITZEL. Barrie has a wild imagination and never forgot what it was like to be a child.
Wendy Davies (age range 19-25)—A young woman, the older sister of Michael, who does not have time for childish things and wants her brother to learn to grow up.
Michael Davies (age range 8-11)—A young boy who never wants to grow up, the younger brother of Wendy whose motto is: “I always want to be a little boy and have fun!”
Auditions:
Saturday, February 1st and 8th from 11 AM-2 PM
Rehearsals:
Saturdays: February 15th, March 7th, 14th, and 21st 11 AM-2 PM
Thursdays: February 27th and March 19th 6:30 PM-8:30 PM
One Day-Performance Day:
Saturday, March 28th at 11 AM, 2 PM, & 6 PM
Venue for Rehearsals and Performances: The Motherbrook Arts & Community Center, 123 High Street, Dedham, MA
Please bring a recent headshot and resume with you to the auditions. Also please be prepared to do a few cold readings from the script.
Your time is valuable. If cast, we will only call you on days you are needed. All adult actors will receive a stipend for their participation.
